Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

A small town is taken over by an alien plague, turning residents into zombies and all forms of mutant monsters.

I checked Scream Factory's site, and I only see the Blu-Ray available.

I watched this film recently, and overall, it was a very fun little B-movie. The gore was without a doubt the highlight, but the humor, the shout-outs, and characters helped hold it up during the rest of the film, especially Bill, Starla, and Mayor MacReady. (I first knew Nathan Fillion from Firefly, and he was initially the reason I first saw it way back when. I was not disappointed.) The CG was pretty noticeable at times, especially with the slug swarms (though it was fortunately used sparingly), and Kylie was basically just "there" after her big introduction, but those were pretty minor sins. Overall, it's a low-key blast for fans of zombies, James Gunn, or any of the actors involved.

My full review is here.

Well, I just may have to ask for a Blu-ray player come Christmastime.
