Debt Arrangement and Pursuing Unpaid Fee's ACT
DAPUF Act

Rationale- Understanding that with a modern economy, states take up debt's from banking institutions.
Rationale 2- Understanding that many will not have the cash on hand to pay these debts back when due.

Article- Give the power of the banks to seize properties, metals, and money in the event of a unpaid debt after the duration to pay the debt has been surpassed.

I would feel better about this if either

1) There was a Supreme Court order
2) There is, in the contract of the loan, a collateral placed (say money or metals or land on the map)

--VETO THREAT--

While the President agrees with the premise of this bill, the implementation of the bill is flawed in that it would allow banks to seize property from debtors without due process. If the seizure was part of an agreement beforehand to hold such property collateral, or if the seizure occurred as part of a Court order after due process, I believe that would better safeguard the rights of individuals. Therefore, I must regretfully inform the Senate that I will veto the bill if it passes as currently written.

The bill has passed 1-0 being 100% of the vote. The Motion is now sent to the house to overturn the presidential veto. If he so chooses to.

As threatened, I hereby VETO this measure with the following statement of objection.
Statement of Objection

Mr. Senate President,

While I believe in the intentions behind this bill, I believe the bill should be amended to include more protections for citizens from having their property seized by private institutions. A bank should not have the authority to seize assets unless one of two criteria have been met: either the property had been beforehand agreed to be held collateral by both parties or the seizure is legitimized as part of a fraud charge brought to the Supreme Court. Property rights are one of the most important rights required to build a free and stable society which is why I believe it must be safeguarded. I would be happy to sign an amended version of the bill that includes one of those protections.

Sincerely,

John Newman
President of the Allied States

Debate is now open on Representative Moehner's motion to override the President's veto. Debate will last for 12 hours unless a Representative moves to extend debate to 48 hours.
