THE ALLIED TIMES

Note from the editor: I'd like to thank you all for checking out this first issue. I'd like to assure you that this is going to be a learning experiences, and things will only be getting better from here. I know this first issue is short, but I am trying to find out what articles are going to fit into what my aspirations are for the paper, and what will work or not. Aesthetics are not my expertise, so for now the paper is going to look very simple. However, I hope you decide to take this learning experience with me, so that you can watch this paper grow. Thank you for your time.

NEWS OF THE WEEK: The following are the major events of the week:

  • Both CDLand and New Christland have taken their oaths for a second term. The majority of the government is still Republican.
  • The Allied Bank v. CDLand Supreme Court case has officially ended after a vast amount of information has been presented to the Court from both the Prosecution and the Defense. Deliberation for the trial is expected to last multiple days.
  • Taxes have been collected! Citizens favorite time of the month, I'm sure.
  • A July Budget has been presented by President CDLand, but has not been adopted yet.
  • The Senate Expansion Bill has failed in the House, effectively killing the bill.
  • The Allied States has dipped under 100 nations.

    OPINION
    Is the Democratic Party dying?
Ever since I became a member to the great Allied States, I have noticed something pertinent about how the way this government runs - to the right. Although there are a few members of the Democratic Party involved in appointed positions, myself included, there has been an overwhelming majority of Republicans in the nation's government. My question is: where are all of the Democrats? Without more activity from the party, the party will die like others have already. We as a party need to come together and push for legislation and governmental positions that will support our left wing ideology. While I commend the Republicans in the majority for their hard work, I urge more Democrats to come out of hiding and make their presence known. You know where you are, so come out and play.

    QUESTION OF THE WEEK
We here at The Allied Times want to hear from you, our readers. Thats why we're going to ask for your feedback on an event each week. This week, we want to know what bill you have found most important that has been passed thus far, and why. Comment below and feel free to converse with your fellow citizens.

Thanks for the issue, Boridium! I enjoyed reading it.

And I also hope that the Democratic party begins submitting legislation. I believe that I have voted "Aye" on pretty much every House bill ever proposed lol.
