Ok, here's the deal: if the bill part 2 passes, it goes to the senate. If it doesn't, we reform it and vote again. is that ok?

that is the plan. So if you change your vote, it will save us some time (I would vote nay in the Senate anyway if it passed here).

The 24 hours are up. the second part of the bill was not passed. But this does not mean we all go home and find something else to debate. What this does mean is that we change the part of the bill regarding religion in schools, after which we will vote again. We have 12 hours to discuss the reforming of the bill, unless everyone would rather vote as soon as a reformed version is agreed on.

This is my proposed reformed bill:

Congress shall make no law respecting a religion, or declaring an official state religion, and the teaching of any religious doctrine in any education program funded by the state, unless for educational purposes only, is strictly forbidden.

Alright that works. Or how about saying teachers can't advocate or endorse a religion?

How's that?

Congress shall make no law respecting a religion, or declaring an official state religion, and the advocation or endorsement of any religion by any religious program funded by the state is strictly forbidden.

Ok, 2 hours to go, last chance to decide the revised bill. so far we have just my two suggestions, so you can agree on one or suggest a new one. if nothing happens we'll use the second version.

ok times up. part 2 of bill is once again at vote for at least 24 hours.

All in favor of part 2 of the bill which says: "Congress shall make no law respecting a religion, or declaring an official state religion, and the advocation or endorsement of any religion by any religious program funded by the state is strictly forbidden" say "aye". all against it say "nay".
