Article I: The Legislative Branch Section 1. All legislative power within the Northeast shall be vested in the Northeast State Assembly. Section 2. 1. The Assembly shall consist of all citizens of The Allied States who choose to reside in the Northeast. 2. The Governor of the Northeast shall serve as Presiding Officer of the Assembly. 3. Unless otherwise stated in this Constitution, the Assembly may pass resolutions under its purview with a simple majority of affirmative votes cast. Section 3. 1. The Assembly shall have the power to pass laws, rules, and regulations regarding the function and structure of Northeastern Government and the activity of the Northeast. 2. The Assembly shall have the power to pass laws affecting the government roleplay, levy taxes, and regulate commerce. 3. The Assembly may, with a two-thirds majority, remove the Governor and other state officeholders for unethical or illegal behavior or for inactivity . Article II: The Executive Branch Section 1. 1. Executive power within the Northeast shall be vested in the Governor of the Northeast, who shall take care that the laws of the Northeast be faithfully executed. 2. The Governor shall be elected to a one month term by the Northeast State Assembly. In the case of a tie, the winner shall be determined by a random process conducted by the incumbent Governor. If the incumbent Governor is one of the tied candidates, however, the winner shall be randomly determined by the incumbent Speaker and if both the incumbent Governor and Speaker are tied candidates then the incumbent Governor shall appoint a non candidate citizen of the Northeast to randomly determine the result of the election. Section 2. The Governor may, at his discretion, delegate his powers and responsibilities to other citizens of the Northeast. Section 3. Should the office of Governor be vacant through resignation or removal, the Assembly shall choose another Governor to serve the remainder of the term. Section 4. The Governor shall hold the right to approve/reject treaties and issue/retract embargoes. The Governor must inform the State Assembly of any such actions These actions can be overridden by the State Assembly with a majority. Article III: The Judicial Branch Section 1. Cases and controversies within the Northeast shall be resolved by the Supreme Court of The Allied States. Article IV: Amendment Process Section 1. The Constitution of the Northeast may be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of the Assembly. Edited by Zach21GF, Mar 17 2015, 11:40 AM.

Just a draft; what does everyone think? There's no executive veto because with 4 people I hardly think it makes sense to have one; if there are ever more people maybe we can add that back in. |

I have nothing to add, well I do, but it hardly belongs in the constitution. As I read the act, the government financing is a one time amount, which then brings me to the extremely unpopular but necessary subject, taxes. We need some sort of income for the state. But I guess this comes after the constitution. |
