Subsidy Repeal Act

Whereas the Senate recognizes that taxpayer funds should not be used to subsidize businesses,
Whereas government subsidies unfairly influences the market in favor of politically connected businesses and industries,
Whereas repealing government subsidies would return fairness to the marketplace,

Section 1.
Article VIII of Title III of the Forum Economy Act is hereby repealed.

Introduced at the behest of the President.

Debate is open for 24 hours

I have nothing against repealing most of what is currently in the article, however I am worried about the future consequences as this for example would eliminate the possibility for subsidizing green energy, which could set the Allied States back economically in the near future.

green energy has no correlation to what is being repealed or the Economy.

No it does not have a relation to what is being repealed at this point, my worries is that this is only the first step.

And in the green energy sector does perhaps not have a massive influence on the economy of today, but one has to be blind to fail to see its future importance.

There aren't any subsidies for green energy currently. Furthermore, green energy is a "virtual business" and therefore has a lower likelihood of being subsidized anyways (subsidies in the past have tended to go to companies with real products)

Besides, this bill clears the decks, it doesn't forbid any future subsidization.

I once again want to stress that my worry lies in that this may be the first step towards a completely free market.

I am also very worried in relation with the school security, which we may lose if this passes.

The more appropriate forum for subsidizing green energy and school security, in my opinion, would be the government roleplay rather than the forum economy. In fact, the Clean Air Act as I recall already passed $15 billion in green energy research subsidies; those would be unaffected.

School security would not be roleplay as there is an actual company. And perhaps in the not so distant future they will also need that money...

I don't find any reason with this Slippery Slope Fallacy. It is what it is and not what will come.
