Amnesty is hereby defined as the protection of an individual from charges related to illegal immigration
Illegal immigration is defined as illegally entering the Allied States with the intent of staying here

Article 1: Amnesty
Section 1:
Amnesty will be granted to people currently in the Allied States who meet one or more of the current criteria:
Quote:

  • The person is under the age of majority in their state
  • The person is studying at a recognized postsecondary institute
  • The person is currently in an apprenticeship
  • The person is working to get a high school diploma
  • The person is employed
  • The person is over the age of 65
  • The person is physically disabled or pregnant.

Section 2:
Amnesty will be given for one additional year if the person becomes unemployed, has recently finished his/her education, or has to take care of a newborn

Section 3:
Anyone who commits a felony is automatically stripped of his/her protection, and can be stripped if a court gives an order.

Article 2: Permanent Residence
Section 1:
After one year of amnesty, an illegal immigrant may apply for the Permanent Resident status and enjoy the full benefits of it.

Section 2:
They are given priority on the Permanent Resident program.

I think there should be border security provisions added to this and then the amnesty provisions take effect after the border is secure. Also I think there should be a disqualification for illegal immigrants to receive welfare. But I suppose that's for the Justice Committee to work out :P

Definitely. I think this one's probably the longest though: Amendment to the SR 1 Establishing the Standing Rules for the Operation of the Senate

I like it, but what about families with young children? I think they should be able to come in on the parent's coat-tails.

I think it's good, the only thing I would add is small children and their families , as suggested by Zach. As for border security, we could save that for another bill or decide to add those here.
