People love signature shoes. The mere act of attaching a beloved Nike Flyknit France athlete’s name to a model can take it from middling popularity to absolute must-have status. That, I suppose, is the thinking behind the Nike KD 8 Lifestyle bearing the initials of Kevin Durant.Don’t get me wrong, I actually dig the aesthetics, from the perforated black-and-silver Air Force 1 High upper, sans the strap, to the black-on-gum sole that’s borrowed straight from the Dunk. It’s an amalgam of two true icons, so what’s not to like? But that’s the crux of the matter. This isn’t a lifestyle model inspired by a signature athlete’s on-court shoe, as has sometimes been the case with the LeBron or Kobe or KD Lifestyles. This is just an Air Force 1-Dunk hybrid. Cool looks but, nominally, something of a misnomer.Still, if the biggest complaint is a peculiar name, then the shoe’s doing plenty?right. The first colorway of the Nike KD 8 Lifestyle releases this Saturday, August 8, at retailers nationwide. It looks like that will include most stateside Foot Lockers. The Air Mowabb OG retro run began with the utterly classic “Rattan” colorway, a beloved original look that mixes tan leather with orange-and-blue neoprene. But wait! There’s more!Next to the revival party will be the Nike Air Mowabb Trail End Brown, another OG style that’s gotta have ACG acolytes champing at the bit. From heel to toe, the boot-meets-sneaker silhouette is impressively faithful to the original optimistically-named colorway — two-tone brown upper, black heel-clip, purple-and-orange neoprene, all in a sleek, sporty yet irrevocably functional design.Few things quite capture 90s sartorial sensibilities like the classic ACG shoes, and the Nike Air Mowabb Trail End Brown?perfectly embodies that point. Take a closer look below, and stay tuned for a release date. Stephane Ashpool, founder of Parisian Nike Roshe Run Outlet fashion house Pigalle, once more puts on display his affinity for blending basketball style and higher-fashion sensibilities, with the Pigalle x Nike LeBron 12 Elite.LeBron James’s cutting-edge postseason hoops shoe retains all its impressive tech bona fides, but it’s updated with Pigalle’s PPP insignia and a bold shotclock-inspired pattern that deftly marries together cool aesthetics and Ashpoole’s love of basketball. The shoe stands firmly at the confluence of function and fashion, and it does so with aplomb. The Pigalle x Nike LeBron 12 Elite releases August 18 exclusively at NikeLab X158 in Shanghai; August 19 at NikeLab PS7 in Hong Kong; and September 3 at NikeLab destinations worldwide, including amruns.uk/NikeLab. After toiling away with a big cat on their chests for the last few years, the Chile national football team makes the switch to the Swoosh beginning this year. In fact, beginning last weekend, the U20 men’s team having taken on Qatar on August 9 in Spain, and giving the new Chile national team kits their on-pitch debut in the process. The home kit, the one premiered on Sunday in the 1-0 victory over Qatar, features a shock of red through the predominantly solid-colored jersey, with a white polo-style collar and deep blue cuffs adding stark contrast while completing the national palette. That shirt is worn with blue shorts and white socks for a consistent look head to toe.In away matches, Chile will wear a stunning, solid white shirt inspired by the Andes Mountains, while the collar and the cuffs — blue and red here, respectively — offer up colorful juxtaposition. Solid white shorts and socks keep the kit crisp, clean and colorfully understated, while also allowing the secondary colors to really pop against the sea of white. The new Chile national team kits are now available for pre-sale exclusively through the Nike Football App. They’ll be widely available at select global retailers on August 15. Take a closer look below, and keep it locked to NB for future football kit updates. It’s that time of year. The Free Inneva Woven has been winning over fans for three years now, and finally women are getting the royal treatment from the sneaker franchise, with the introduction of the NikeLab Women’s Free Inneva. The bold new silhouette marries the innovative woven construction of the original Inneva to a remarkably fashion-forward design. The refined, elegant shape draws from the look of a modern oxford shoe — note the tapering near the toe — while pops of premium leather are interspersed in the weave for a luxe look. The NikeLab Women’s Free Inneva release date is slated for August 22 at amruns.uk/NikeLab and select NikeLab destinations. Debuted three?years ago, the Free Inneva Woven was one of Nike’s most unique designs in ages; a shoe composed almost entirely of “woven” textile straps that delivered singular fit, feel and movement as well as bold aesthetics. And now it’s spawned a sequel that looks to build on that hallowed reputation. The Nike Free Inneva 2 too feature Nike Blazer Basse Femmes s a predominantly woven upper, but the nylon webbing is now interlaced by hand in a smaller, more intricate weave. Varying widths are used on each strand for different stability or flexibility in different regions, and a leather panel is integrated directly into the side and heel, transforming both style and fit.Whether this is received as warmly as the original remains to be seen, but Nike (or NikeLab as it were) did an admirable job retaining the spirit of the Free Inneva Woven without being redundant. The Nike Free Inneva 2 release Nike Blazer Basse Pas Cher s August 22 on amruns.uk/NikeLab and in select NikeLab destinations worldwide. |
