One of ur Japanese dishes?  edible one ah?
Good try on the very shallow DOF but the front "branch" out of focused is quite distracting.. making the picture lack focus.

Wah..  if you really APAD of your dishes.. I will go really hungry..  :P

i try to make you more hungry next time . these are edible blossoms airflown from japan . sakura buds , for use to enchance the taste of the soy sauce dipped by fresh sashimi .

lack focus ? did you meant the whole pack of flowers need to be sharper ? to do this , do i have to set the aperture from f1.7 up to f2.8 ?

o..lack focus in this case means the other distracting things draw attention away from your subject, which is the buds.

As for aperture wise.. depends on the outcome you want. Best is to try different aperture values and see which effect you like best.
