hi everyone , normally after a day of happy shooting everywhere , got home & what i do first . turn on the pc & start to bring out everything from the memory card to hdd .

then i turn to my camera , (of course i did wash my hands & legs , clean up & keep what i have brought out for the day , then i go to my room :) ) and finds it sticky with oily ??? like on the lcd caused by my face & nose when looking through the viewfinder , also some caused by my forehead's sweat & oil on the back of the flash sometimes , my palm sweats on the grip (this is important) & also on the lenses i have used . with this thing caused harm to the camera & lenses ?

i will get a dry cloth to wipe the body & the lenses as usual . do a 'blow job' on the lenses but will not clean the glasses , then place them back into the fridge .

blow the camera's mirror too , then close it with the 'a' cap .

is there any special treatment that i need to do on the oily & sweat thing on them besides cleaning & blowing ? so that i can keep them clean & live longer ?

do i need to buy any other cleaning accessories ? what are the recommendations ?

thank you . :kowtow:

I am curious to know too.

For me, once back from a shoot, first thing is to download the pic.
Then cam and lenses all dump into the dri cab. Ya, lazy me.

 Have no intention to sell my lenses yet.
Paint the white beercan black then should it turn yellow lor.
If not, use liquid-paper also can.

No la, you think I really so lazy huh?
Use a cloth, at least, to wipe the body surface of the lenses and cam body la.
As for the glass element, I only clean when its stained with finger prints etc.
Otherwise, I leave it. Just dont over clean it.

Haha ... I learnt the scary way as well.

One day when putting the equipment together for a shoot found some stain on the cam

Now try to use a cam cloth to clean the body, blow all lenses, use the lensspen brush to clean all nooks and cranny.

Problem is still see a lot of dust in the viewfinder :(

wow guys, you sure take care of your stuff. i treasure mine, never abuse them and set and transport them very safely. but i won't coddle them in any way because i see them as tools to get a job done. maintenance is part of the usage, not the driving force behind it. frankly, i'm pretty anal about it, i wipe stains off all the time, plus make sure the front and rear lens elements are clean, but i won't put them through a wipe-down.

as the saying goes, first cut is the deepest, so if we take too much care, one day if we're unlucky/ careless enough to nick a little off the paint, we'd be too heart-broken to continue shooting. as long as its not going to affect the image quality, cosmetics are just that ;)

just my humble viewpoint.
