Flash shoe bracket replacement

My 36AM flash shoe plastic bracket broke when I accidentally knocked on it. Luckily it was mounted on Flash stand instead of my Cam.

Anyway went to Service Centre.. and it will actually cost $150 to replace that plastic section. Crazy! Was told the whole bottom connector part has to be replaced.

The cost is almost half of a brand new flash (if you buy with promotion @299)

Me being me, am buying <$2 super glue .. fix back. Otherwise I will mod the base for permanent Macro use.

Pity .. I wanted to sell and upgrade. Now I can't sell at all.

Anyone with broken/faulty sony 36AM or Minolta 36 but with good base, please let me know, I will buy your broken set to fix this, on my own.

I broke my 5600HS(D) once also, from the camera instead of flsh shoe stand. The camera was ok though.

For $150 repair cost, a new 56AM is better indeed.

Not sure can we just order the part and repair it ourself?

Not necessary must get a Sony 36AM or HS3600. I think any Minolta flash will do. Since the hot shoe is the same. I have a 3500xi for sale if you're interested.

Thanks for all the reply. I will try my cheap repair version first and let you see the result.

If that does not work, then only explore other areas like repairman & buying other flash.

Besides, at moment I got a 56AM to use.
