no lah, you can still use a razor/ sashimi knife to slice along the barrel to free it up. but of course check first, then you don't have to resort to this drastic rescue.

internal zoom no problem, only watch out for the MF ring, and any moving part - those should not be laminated over.

good luck bro, let us see pics of it when done. :)

Never see before how these people do.. Do they use hair dryer or heat to shrink the wrap? Should we be concern about heating the lens this way?

We seem to OT big time here ... and I haven't get started with the shoe bracket replacement, although I already bought the epoxy gum.

if the shrink wrap works maybe you can use that tape to fix the bracket!

i'll check out the push cart at PS this sat after the wedding shoot - ends with lunch there ;)

CL - i dun think its an issue to heat it. the heat we get from outdoor shoots is quite high too. but i'll check out the process.

My concern is primarily the heat that melt the lens plastic or lens coating.

In fact, at Super Import Nights we (Willis, Boombox, Dewakarma and myself) saw an exhibitor with air brushing on cars. We asked them about air brushing lens since the car paint last longer. But the man was not very sure it will damage our lens, since the particles are very fine. If air brush can be done, I can be very sure the paint will last. But to be on safe side, it is better to dismantle the parts for air brush before putting the lens back again.

The real question is, how many of us know how to really take apart the beercan for them to air brush and then put it back?
