from the pics this lens seems to perform better with sufficient light, i think even with SSS and DRO it won't be tack sharp (and i assume all mirrors perform alike since i've the tokina and a Opteka (rubbish brand) ones).

Is it really worth a trip to go HK to buy some lenses there & straight away convert the Warranty to Singapore ? I don't really wish to spend the money here in Singapore buying lenses ... Too expensive ...

How many lenses can 1 carry back from HK to Singapore ?

Ming... I think in another thread, some did mention...

  • If you are buying Sony lenses, it is really cheap and conversion is just a walk away...
  • If you buying other lenses, not so easy... unless you can get international warranty.
  • HK is dutyfree... therefore it is cheaper...
  • HK shops don't really bother with fixed prices... so more competitive

End of the day... IF you are going there for a holiday... then sure! buy buy buy!!!
But I am really not for the idea of going there for the sole purpose of buying lenses... Consider the airticket...

But bro... if you going with your family for a short break... Please go buy! Buy both your A100 and A700... your girl can play mah! Then carry the cameras in 2 separate bags... then you can buy quite a few lenses and bring them back... if stop by SG customs... just say that you brought the lenses there / or bought only 1 or 2 for your own use lor...

Thanks for the advises bro . I am not going there ... :)

I decide to send one of my fatty kitchen staff there for holiday to buy lenses for me . :P

So it means the buyer will have to carry a camera with him so as not to be too obvious that he is just there to buy so many lenses ?

How many lenses max can 1 carry back ?

CZ 85mm f1.4 and CZ 135mm f1.8 . Are they really the lens that are so good that everyone hope to own one ? Are we buying the NAME or these 2 lens really lived to their name ?

Isn't there any other lenses that can substitute these 2 ? Like the Minolta 85mm f1.4 ?
