Hi Mr Tankm , but it had been said this 85mm is a portrait lens . I do not have any primes thats good for Portraits ... And taking the 70-200mm to use 85mm & 135mm , i have not tried lor ... Frankly i have not used it to shoot anyone else except my wife & kids ... They look great ! Oh how i love my 70-200mm !

But now i feel like i wanted to have a portrait lens , like 85mm or 135mm ... Not really a must have now , for i believe i will not use it as often . Its the G thats making me going round & round  :coming: ! I seems to have realised the difference of the photos i have taken using that 2 Gs and compared to the rest ...

I also do not know what is the necessary to shoot below f2.8 ... ?

I have a choice now ... Its just very very hard to decide ...

>>> Bro docdeng , have you own this piece of CZ already ? Comments all over were CZ are too sharp for portraits . But speedy focus & no zoom creeps sure wins the G ...

I had just missed a Mint Condition Konica Minolta 85mm f1.4 G D at ebay ... supposed to end tomorrow but someone just ended it with BUY NOW , thats the one i wanted to get ... <_<  Maybe this is good for me too , so i can have more time to think about it ...

ask choaxangel which portrait lens he use ?

If your minimum f-stop for portrait is greater than f2.8, eg f3.5, f4, f4.5, f5.6 or even f8, then I really believe your 70-200SSM is more up to the task as a portrait lens. The 85 1.4 doesn't guarantee creamy bokeh all the time, you still need to control the background and distant of subject to background to get the creamy background. :)

Well, he knows that I use the two Gs... and many times, I don't use them wide open. :) I frequently shoot at F5.6, F8 or F11

I have consider my background properly when trying to get bokeh, and I guess that applies to lenses with apertures even larger than F2.8... your white monster is a good bokeh maker... :D make use of it! :)

Haha ... Do you realise that sweets that you dont' have somehow taste sweeter? Or that the grasses on other side of field always looks greener?

It could be mind thing la...

Do you know whatever lenses you have now looks a lot sweeter to most of us? We just "lau nuah" (salivate).. And yet you "lau nuah" on lenses in Sony's showcase .. lagi jialat ...

Eat your sweet first before getting more sweets.. Otherwise you end up with more than what you can actually chew ..

Don't :knock: me hor?

Same here but after careFUL evaluation whether to get either the minolta 85mm or cz 85mm, most probably i will stick with my 100mm 2.8 sf and 135mm f2.8 for dedicated portraiture shot and snapshot.
time is hard and it going to get even harder. got to save for raining day, the cz and 85G can wait

bro..u wanna buy G umbrella for raining day is it?
