CZ85mm indeed a very good sharp lens ... Wow i like it so much ... But why i have not ever tried my hands on any Minolta 85mm Gs ?

Anyone ... ?

Ming...

seriously, lens is just that lens.. they are merely a tool.

85mm f1.4 G is and probably will always be my favorite lens and the one I use the most till today.

The lens itself is very sharp. Sometime it is too sharp and have a lot of details in it.

Testing on CZ 85, I am still prefer 85G because it is slightly less sharp but have more details I can pull out from raw. I like the bokeh of the 85G very much. In terms of the feel, all 4 version of 85G is pretty much the same except for the first version because of relatively small focusing ring.. Other than that it is equally as a good lens.

The advantage to being able to shoot f2 or less is priceless... just ask Willis after he complaint that he is already up in ISO800 while I am still at ISO200.

Time to poison yourself with Minolta 85mm f1.4 G??

Regards,

Hart

In fact i am ready for a 85mm ( In terms of buying it , not using it ... yet ) , but since its quite expensive ... I am still hesitating because $1700 for Minolta & $1800 for CZ ... Just which do i want ... New age CZ of older Minolta ?

I telling myself , go for the G , because its just a piece of good glass ! :cheer: , but when i think of the $100 difference , i could be getting the newer CZ .

Bokeh from Minolta , sharpness from CZ ... which is more important , those who had the CZ , will they want the Minolta ? Those who already had the Minolta , will they think of the CZ ?

Luckily i slept early last night ...
