In fact i am ready for a 85mm ( In terms of buying it , not using it ... yet ) , but since its quite expensive ... I am still hesitating because $1700 for Minolta & $1800 for CZ ... Just which do i want ... New age CZ of older Minolta ?

I telling myself , go for the G , because its just a piece of good glass ! :cheer: , but when i think of the $100 difference , i could be getting the newer CZ .

Bokeh from Minolta , sharpness from CZ ... which is more important , those who had the CZ , will they want the Minolta ? Those who already had the Minolta , will they think of the CZ ?

Luckily i slept early last night ...

regardless of what is said abt the bokeh of the older minolta lens
1700 is way too much exp.
I will take the cz in these case

Hello CZ! bye bye G!

Could it be Seller knows many many A mount users are looking for it & willing to pay for the price , thats why they bring up the price so high ?

Lucky for me i did not go for it that day ...

If the price is so close, I'll definitely go for Z. If that's really 1/3, then G loh.
I'm very unbias since I haven't tried both. But one noob opinion, Z can definitely do PP to looks like G, but not the other way... I'll definitely pay for the sharpness :D only if I have $$$.

by all mean 85mm f1.4 G is very sharp lens... i think you think slightly out of track as nice bokeh can't be reproduced (easily that is) in PP stage, but sharpness can be easily added to a photo.

Even if the price is $100 different, I will go for 85mm f1.4 G anytime...

CZ lens is not sharper, but it has higher contrast level which just give impression of sharpness. I would rather lower contrast so I can add them later rather than contrast blocking my shadow details and having less dynamic range.

I could be wrong though... but that is the testing done by me tells me that way... but you are talking about marginal stuff.
