That's the reason why someone here once mentioned that our hobby not easy on wallet.

I personally rather spend more on lenses... They are not replaced as fast by newer and better lenses... they also keep value much better.
Bodies price drop very fast, and bodies are the one thing that all manufacturers are always introducing and focusing the marketing on.

I will continue to use my A100 as long as it is able to give me the pictures I want. I print only to A4... Only when I feel that A100 no longer is able to achieve what I can shoot (meaning I am really good at it...) then I upgrade... All my dreaming for the A900 is exactly that... dreaming... until I turn from newbie to serious semi-pro...

Bro Hart mentioned the other day... He was still using his 7D till recently...

now i feel bad about myself on the buying of the A700 without having fully using the A100 ... :ashamed:

 for you ! hope the day your dream may come true to hold & own the A900 .

Bro... please don't take offence with what I said hor...
I know a lot of bros upgraded to A700... And everyone has good reasons for it... better noise control at higher ISO... Faster shutter... proper VG... etc.. etc...
And I respect everyone's reasons...

I also don't belong to the group who refuse to change body... After sometime, the improvements are definitely worth the change...

I belong to the group (not sure how many people) who feel heart pain when I see the price of the body drop so fast... Why I buy the camera so early? So I try to use the body until I think it has been worth my money...

Then again... BBB virus is strong... I bought 1 body and 8-9 lens this year alone...

Wah 8-9 lenses alone this year? what lenses??

Unfortunately in this technological era if Sony doesn't do it, someone elses will! If you look around ... tech companies do not reduce prices as time passes, rather they release new technology upgrades, models, etc. Examples includes memories, PCs, you name it. Every quarter prices remain more or less stable but GB or GHz increases!

Back to the A500 ... could it be positioned around the D80???

Emeritus Alphadslr Official Passerby~shooting badly since 2004 and continuing

Hi , personally felt if u really need the camera then just go get it.
for those who just bought the a100 but want the newer and better cam unless u got spare cash to throw it better to stick with the current body and wait for the price to come down before buying.

for the remaining surviving/ existing km users  who had stick with their km5/7d for the last 2-3yrs .we had waited for far too long for the real replacment for their existing body. The a700 exceeded our expection so far ...so for us the upgrade is inevitable and sweet :thumbsup1:
