If that cleaning is good... it also means we can shoot at higher ISO.

For me higher ISO = increased Shutter Speed! This is important for bird shoot :)

Good!

Now I now why the other pro photographers have such clear pictures.

Thanks. Downloading Gimp now... The addon what's the name? Does it come with the Gimp install? Or do I have to install separately?

Overall on surface it looks good, but you do loose detail during noise reduction. Maybe can try adjusting the noise reduction strength to get a balance.

In the fish photo, there are texture on the fish head, but much of it gone after the processing. Similarly there are some dirt at the bottom left of the tank and it's "cleanup" as well.

In the flower photo, the texture on the petal is much reduced as well. :)

Try Email trigger on Alphadslr. To setup ...
- In preference, select "Email & Subscription Settings" and set Topic/Forum subscription alert type as "Alerts by email".
- For tracking individual thread, click on "Track Topic" at bottom page when viewing the thread.

Your right it does reduce detail during noise reduction!

But for most people if they didn't see the original photo they most likely will not notice that. The two black mark at the bottom of the photo can be fix easy so besides that, If the original is not posted then it's hard to tell, I posted the flower on some very well respected critique forums and was very surprised at the positive response towards the photo, But I did not post the original

So it tells my even a very good photographer will have a hard time finding out all the flaws with out the original photograph,

So I feel my conclusion towards this soft ware is good but just watch and not over do it.

Thanks for the critiques! Really appreciate all who posted

its free, or at least free under the GNU public licensing program.
ah, in simple terms its free for us to use. this is the much talked about alternative to PS, although some functions are missing, and the learning curve can be a little steep.
