I personally do not like the idea if looking through the viewfinder is Digitally ... Already get so used to looking through the VF to see the real thing ...

I believed once we get adapted to the Live View from the LCD , its will not be easy to go back to looking through the VF ...

What am i saying ? Do you guys understanding what i wanted to tell ... ?

Personally,.. a lot depends on how fast the live view refreshes the image. The faster it is better.

The best is optical, WYSIWYG. No glare interference. And less battery consumption.

I got that idea... happened to me actually, I offered to help someone with her PNS camera... and I ended up trying to aim it like a DSLR, then realised something isn't right...

I have used Sony F717 to F828 to R1 , also got used to the Digital VF . But when i see through the VF of the A100 , then the A700 , i am definitely not going back to DVF . So much difference !

I missed the actions using DVF on my H1. Refresh rate doesn't appeal to me when shooting moving bird. Macro is still ok, .. I think.

Take a look at the top plate switch that says .... "Live View" and "DVF" .

Is the A300/A350 using Digital View Finder ?

hmm can switch between Live View and View Finder ... but digital View Finder ?..
anyway it is a very  feature.

DVF most likely mean the LCD display.

No idea bro. There is only one LCD. "Live View" is definitely using the LCD. "DVF" ???

opps, now I get what you mean, may be it's a term for consumer who are more familiar with Digital View Finder rather than View finder? Or the D mean something else? From the photo, the flipping mirror still exist, so quite unlikely to be real Digital View Finder like P&S camera.

Are you sure it is DVF? and not OVF (note the curvature of the body might distort the lettering)?

Optical View Finder sounds more appropriate for DSLR than Digital View Finder..

You may be right on the "OVF". :)
