How about canibalising a filter or step up filter to hold the flash?
Or best .. filter hood?

Only problem to this is .. lens with rotating AF front .... it will drive you crazy... with rotating flash....

"The green piece in the drawing is a piece of material to act as a cover. It is to prevent flaring/ ghosting as the set up needs to be placed a little forward of the lens. Otherwise light from the reflected flash will wash out your shots! "

How about it ... ? I think it will be rotating along with the lens ... Like what clkoh said ...

:P My Sony 100mm Macro fell from the table top to the floor just now while trying to fix the light on it ... The hood is broken already , but luckily the lens is still working .

good point, i forgot about that, yes, a cheapo filter (remove glass element) would make a better set up although ring flashes have an adapter that allows free rotation for diff orientations.

Hmm .. replacement hood ALC-SH0007 will cost you $35 only. Hope your lens is OK though.

Hi , the 100mm lens should still be working fine . I think i landed on the hood & the back cap . Don't need to get new hood , unless need to do some DIY on it .

I wll still stick to my polyfoam on flash setup till better one is implemented .

I did an experiment on my bounce card . Result don't turn out so good .

My marco kaki from other forum all uses a bottle 2 Litre Meiji milk. Drink the milk (was told its good for health) and wash the bottle. just cut out one of the 4 side with a pair of scissors. There are many version on the mounting part. The most common one is to cut out a semi-circle to fit yr lens. the top part should covers yr flash. Mounting is by the use of blue tag to the lens.

Learnt from Steve so all Credits to Steve.

Hope this help... simple but effective... <_<
