He meant sacrifice as in putting a good lens rear to risk of scratches, smudge .. whatever.. there is no filter for rear lens :)

can try modding a filter thread onto the rear cap that you mentioned for adjusting the aperture if really want to.

why need to sacrifice any lens for this setup ? nothing permanently moded on it right ? may i know where you get the reverse adaptor and how much ?

you can try mounting the reverse lens on your macro lens. it's basically a high quality magnifying glass similar to your close-up filter.

Hi Mr Tankm , my sacrafice means have to face the other side of the lens on the outside , risk of dirty or scratching it lor ...

Got the Reverse Mount from Ebay , a 55mm for about SGD$10 over dollars only . Its a direct to Mount adapter , only one side got 'Filter thread' ... <<< Am i right on the 'Filter Thread' ? The side where the screw is ...

Unless i get the other type of adapter which got 2 sides of screw , but i don't think i need that . Just trying out only ...

To me , its good for Still Life & have to be so close ... Not suitable for moving objects & ... it cannot zoom ... <_< But taking stills , its a wonderful setup !

ok, this is a different reverse macro setup then. :P

My 50mm f1.4 is a full Manual Lens . The Aperture can be adjusted from f1.4 to 16 . So when focusing , its always opened wide . After the focus , then i slowly turn the A ring to my desire A & shoot . Its fun actually ! :D
