Hi everyone , i was looking for a Flash bracket , Flash extender to shoot Macro . So i went to some Camera Shops & ended at CP ... While looking around , did not find any i like , finally , spotted one which costs about $15+ but was told that i needed a special Hot Shoe for my Alpha Flash becasue its reverse mount ! ... <_<

So i went over to their Tripod department & look for others ... A sales person said they have one ! Bracket with Extender ! Its by Manfrotto & i was quite attracted to it . So i bought the Off Camera Hot Shoe too ... But little did i know ...

What does this Flash Bracket with Extender supposed to do ? ... Maybe this is not the regular one used to shoot Macros ...

Any comments on this type of Flash Bracket ?

Wow, Ming that's an interesting flash bracket. Is that heavy?

The elevation of the flash above the camera level is useful when using big and long lens (also with big hood) which tends to block the flash from illuminating the bottom part of the picture.

It will be good for event shoot as well. For macro, I think a bit a bit too long, unless for creative use.

Can also use to hold a Big home-made "Kite" bouncer with the flash mounted on camera! Anyone standing behind you will be cursing haha..
