thanks Ming, i was abt to re-type the steps. here they are, extracted from the post: I use a simple technique (DIY) using readily available material: 1. irritating flyer in your mailbox (those promoting credit card, perfume and others) - make sure its a strong card 2. piece of lens tissue. STEPS: 1. cut a narrow strip of card (width to fit or smaller than your sensor) 2. fold it in half - it should be long enough for you to hold, and reach your sensor 3. put a strip of lens tissue perpendicularly ACROSS the card's fold, keep the loose ends of the tissue INSIDE the fold. 4. Fold the card strip and the smooth "outside" tip of the card/ tissue set up will be the swab you clean your sensor with. 5. DO NOT use any liquids. just a few firm downward strokes (in one direction, please do not swipe up down left right) will clean the stubborn moisture and dust stains from your sensor. 6. take another test shot to check. the sensor is protected by a piece of hard glass, unless you use something hard, there is no way you can damage it. i do this all the time, no problems. btw vodox, i've never sent my cams in to clean, so far i've done this numerous times on my 7d and 5d without any problem. i have no reason to think the a700 or any dslr's sensor would be any different. |

Went off to Marina today for lunch, dropped by CP and got myself some sensor swabs, eclipse solution, pec pads and a giottos blower! Damn shiok, sat in the office, used the blower, and it got quite a few of the bunnies away. Then proceeded with the sensor swab and eclipse solution, (in time to come i will prolly use my own swab and use the pec pads, swabs i bought so that i can learn how to clean hehe). Followed the instructions to the letter, and woohooo! Freaking clean sensor! Im so happy now that my Camera is clean, and that I can do most of it myself! All ready for Bintan now. Hope to get some excellent shots Cheers guys!!!
