I see, so "fast" is refering to ability to have fast shutter. All the while I thought it's the focusing speed. Thanks a lot. Further confirm this on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lens_speed |

so far so good, i think. looks acceptable at 5.1x zoom on the cam, haven't downloaded the test pics yet so i can't confirm 100%. in any case its a HUGE improvement. fast lens? any lens is a fast lens. use MF.

My CZ16-80mm <_< ... At first when bought , i thought its soft & off focus , back focus at any zoom from 16mm to end , which is the problem caused by my A700 . Then after my A700 is back , good & steady , i realised this CZ16-80mm is getting worst & unaccepatble anymore , i decide to send it back to SSC . Then they say got problem ! 3 Days & its back to me Sharp & Clear as what many had said . Now i am a more happier user of CZ lens !

wow!! i have learn a lot of things today.. but can i say fast lens.. is depending on the user's preference? I should say f2.8 is faster than f3.5 but the speed is much depending on the user's preference..

Some lens with f4 can be faster than f2.8 ... Example the Beercan , i think it had something to do with the built , the body ... There are motorized Minolta XI lenses but think not so fast also ...
