I searched a bit..

STD - Overrides after AF "lock"
F Time (fulltime) - Can override the AF anytime

So it could be you accidentally run the focus after the camera af lock?

Hi Bro Clem , motion blur & speed against focal length ... ? I do not know much about this . All i thought this was is a wonderful lens that can shoot anything anyhow ...

Looks like i need to bring it out to shoot more instead of keeping it like a precious ... :D

Ming, the pics do not look like you have a focus problem with the lens. prob low shutter speed. don't forget that its 70-200 so your shutter speed (i assume aperture is f/2.8 from the bokeh) needs to be higher than the focal length (anywhere from 70 to 200mm). e.g. zoom to 200mm, then shutter speed needs to be at least 1/200 (higher better for reducing camera shake and motion blur).

the two switches on your lens are correctly described, i've nothing to add. i normally set mine to STD (standard) and try to avoid touching the focusing ring. the other switch is to limit your focus to infinity or start from 3m onwards (i.e. min focus is 3m). that's useful if you don't have subjects closer than 3m otw it can be a bother - i accidentally flicked it once and wondered why i couldn't AF on my subject.

bro Hart and I share the same sentiments abt the switch - its ok at normal landscape orientation but once you shoot in portrait orientation your left hand can trigger the switches w/o knowing it.

the little gray buttons in the front of the barrel are to allow you to hold focus. thats as good as holding the af/mf switch on the body.

Thanks Bro Trigger , will take note on the 200mm at 1/200s ... So does it means 100mm , the shuttle speed have to be at 1/125 ?

Looking at your photos exif, your shutter speed is low. Randomly pick 2 photos saw the following exif.
1. 150mm f5.6 1/80s
2. 140mm f8 1/30s

Possible reason for blur photos:
a. Time between af lock and capture is too long, ie you may have lock the af but pause a while before taking the shot. This is important if you capturing object in motion. One way is to experiment with "continuous focus" and pan.

b. Hand shake, make worst by the slow shutter speed.

c. Subject motion, most likely not in this case cause the ride don't move that fast as I recall.

d. SSM heartbroken, now that you found new love with your CZ.
