None of the zeiss lens for other mounts are AF...only Sony zeiss.. so if u have an adapter also useless..no AF.....
Think a new system...

Golden question:Is the build and quality alot better than the sony 50mm 1.4?

I suppose that without the AF,the only difficulties would be during Mass shoot where you have to slowly turn the ring right?

And what adapter would i need?
M42?how much will it cost?
Worth to swtich to the zeiss planner?

Where can i get M42 adaptor.

How much would each cost?

Nope,no experiencing in using M.focus but for such a great lense, don't mind getting it and learning.

I will not suggest M42 with a Zeiss Lens on your Alpha . Unless you come all the way from stone age ... And wanted to have the Zeiss Quality from the ancient times ... :D

We are now on the new Digital Age , go for the new AF lenses . I read you are going for the CZ 135mm f1.8 right ?
Ask ... Absorb ... Equip ... Execute

Yes bro,i'm goign for te 135mm 1.8 zeiss but that's another issue..waiting for oracle to deliver goods.

Currently me have the sony 50mm 1.4 but am thinking of switching to the zeiss 50mm 1.4.
Already got 1 buyer offering the sony 50mm at a higher price than what i bought it for but still i need to know where to get the M42 lense and adaptor.

Ming:why wouldn't you recommend M42 lense on alpha?
If it produce optical quality ad better build then i don't mind...i like to hear your views though :)

Look for Bro Dewakarma to see if he got spare or not lor ... Otherwise , order one from Ebay .

I never NOT recommend M42 for Alpha . If i myself come across a good M42 lens , i will be using it . I am NOT recommending it to you because you started with Digital AF , may not be very suitable for you to get adapted to the M42 mount of lenses ...

>>> Maybe you can borrow from Bro Willis , he got vast collections of M42 lenses !
