I received my new CZ16-80 today. It looked alright but upon a closer view under a bright lamp, I note white speks that are not dust. The lens surface should have a greenish reflection throughout under light, but these specks are pure white. There are four spots from a dot to a 1mm line altogether. Are these a defect and does it affect the picture's quality? I googled and found some other owners having the same problem but no conclusive point. Appreciate if other owners on this forum can comment. I note the same issue with the 62mm Sony MC protector filter as well. I think it may be the lens cap but I'm not sure .... Other that the white speck, I was a bit surprised to see a dust just under the front glass. It was on the edge so doesn't really matter. |

If it's still under warranty, just bring back to SSC. Do however ensure the dots are really dots on the lens and not some reflection or SSC will have a hard time figuring what's wrong. All the best.

Think you better send it straight to SSC to check first . Otherwise , do take a few shots to see does it affect the pictures .

Any tips on taking a photo that will be easier to spot specks? (e.g. white, black background, etc). If I understand the SSC will not service lenses not bought in Singapore? |
