500mm is harder to AF as it is at f8 when wide open, thus 300mm from ming is a better choice, or maybe 70-300/beercan is already good enough if it is bright day. yup yup... bro hart 600mm is will be able see your friend sweat!!

For distance of 30m, I think between 200 to 300mm should be enough for both the surfer & board, plus some background. > 300mm for tighter crop. |
