They are two quite different lenses. CZ 16-80mm f/3.5-4.5 24-120mm on APS-C sensor APS-C sensor only Light weight longer range (16-80mm) Expensive CZ 24-70mm f/2.8 36-105mm on APS-C sensor (not very wide) Both full frame (24-70mm) and APS-C sensor Heavy Faster and brighter f/2.8, goof for low light and action shots. SSM Even More Expensive Should have better image on same f/ apperture because of shorter range and start from f/2.8. Should have better bokeh at 70mm f/2.8. |

the bokeh on the 24-70 is nicer, largely due to the larger aperture and shallower DOF. but that lens is supposedly very sharp too, so if you've been poisoned... well.... |

depend what u want... but as what bro TH have mention, 24-70 will be the winner.. as bokeh is soooo nice... and it is soooo sharp and furthermore is support both full frame and APS-C. |

To me , if not for the upcoming FF A900 , this 24-70mm is still a good to have for its f2.8 now . You cannot compare the range of this 24-70mm that is within the 16-80mm . I would want both if i can afford .

Ming... sigh... The fixed f2.8 max aperture for the CZ24-70 is the real clincher for me for this lens... I tried the 16-80, but just cannot live with the variable max aperture... too used to f2.8... |

if you are thinking of CZ16-80.. do compare it with Sony 16-105.. the build is better yet the sharpness is comparable with CZ16-80.. and with a smaller price tag too! |
