i didn't have a choice for that one since that was the theme  but yes, its refreshing although i'd still stick with my set up given a choice. there were times that day i wished i could go wider or a longer reach. |

category (local/ overseas): Overseas camera(s): Sony A100 Sony A700 lens(es): Any Super Wide Angle lens 28-70G 70-200G bag(s): Computrekker AW accessories: Benro Tripod Lots of separate CF cards (I'm a raw shooter) Extra Batteries Complete Cleaning Kit set up: Wide Angle + A700 - Wide Angle Scenes 28-70G + A700 - Street, and or anything in between 70-200G + A100 - Portraits rationale: Shooting in RAW - I'm a control freak, so RAW gives me the digital negative so that I can work on the files with a lot of flexibility. 70-200G + A100 Should suffice for most portraits and close-ups, the speed of the SSM motor helps to overcome the short comings of the A100's own AF motor. Wide Angle / 28-70G + A700 Provides more resolution for wide angle shots, which demand more detail resolving power. At wide angle, I'd be shooting at much smaller apertures, like F8 to F11, the low light gathering strengths of the a700 body and built in high torque AF motor helps a lot in this regard as well - especially when dealing with slow focusing lenses like the 28-70G |
