Well i don't have Photo shop, so i'm using PSP X. I'ts good for beginners. IMHO better than elements. The true downside is.. there's no support for it. All magazines, websites, articles and every other tutorial always use Photoshop. So i gotta figure out how to apply it to Paint shop pro. Its very irritating. And halfway thru tutorial you don't know if you are doing something right. I'm gonna get Photoshop some day. |

Need adivse. I shoot almost anything, like any beginer. Street, closeups, Black n white, On weekends a go to residential sites and just shoot things that seem ordinary. I got some cash approx(SGD700) to invest in either 1.flash 2.photoshop (currently using paintshop pro X) 3.macro lense (hopefully below SGD700) 4.tripod Which of these is the most basic that I'm missing? they all look important for a bigineer except Macro lense. Any advise will definately help. |

If I got that money to spend, I go for flash then macro lens. Then download GIMP. And use those freebies tripod they always give when you buy a cam. |

3rd Party Macro Lens half the price of the Sony one . As for the Flash , not really that necessary to get Sony one also . With that amount of money , i think you can get all the 4 items . The PS , can get easily , everywhere . PM me if you need one . I can provide you good source .

i've downloaded the paint shop pro X trial version and used it quite extensively over the trial period. i would have to commend that PSP is much easier and friendlier to use, easier to locate the functions, and the few special effects that came along with it was really useful. Especially like the "time capsule" film simulation plugin that is oh so useable. my only quirk with it is that live preview updates are painfully slow. each time you move the sliders a little bit, the photo seems to take forever to refresh. other than that, i think PSP is quite an awesome image editing software, at a much lower price that photoshop. Cheers, weisheng |
