Managed to get my screen calibrated yesterday using the abv product, it take a while to get my eye to get used to the colour.
As my previous screen is more on the cooler side, after calibration, it become warmer, so i had to change my workflow as how i look at the white n black previously,
Here a sample shot.
do u guys/ladies find there any warm cast or colour off balance from yr monitor screens?
pls advise

Looks ok to me.

If you don't mind me asking, is your monitor LCD or CRT ? What level did you set for your black and white point ?

yes, that what i'm curious ... how would the other look at it without calibration,
now still taking a while to get used to the yellowish tinge...now looking at uncalibrated laptop...the white n black look ok.

Tankm, i still very new to this calibration thing.
Are u referring to the K temp and the Gamma?
they are at 6500k and 2.2

Bro, you will need to calibrate your notebook also, so both will look the same.

Once Calibrated , will always have to calibrate . I did on both Desktop & Laptop . So cannot tell the difference . All the pictures became more ... I don't know how to say leh ... more darker , skin tone is more yellow or thats what you all called 'Warm' rather than white ... :P

now at ttsh surfing from my iPhone, looking at the pic posted, the black and white look all right to me too, try to calibrate my laptop earlier , seem that an error issue with the spyder,
assuming if it can be calibrateda, does it meant i will see the yellow too for the laptop?

it should be end up similarly warmer to your desktop, and the colour of the same photo display on both screen should be very close or same. That's the purpose of standardization and calibration.

So i assume its called 'Warm' for the Yellow .

If both Monitors are calibrated using Spyder . They should look almost the same . But the 'Sharp or not Sharp' is depending on the Resolution Display on different Size of the Monitor .

black and white point levels are to set the monitor luminance level. basically you will need to adjust the contrast to set the white point luminance and adjust the brightness for the black point luminance.

Not sure how, spyder3pro works, but using the spyder2pro they provide an option to measure the room luminance and then will provide a recommended target value for both the black and white point. With the same surrounding environment, if you calibrate other display using the same black and white point you should theoretically get the same look in terms of color, contrast and brightness. Useful if you using dual monitor and want to get both to look identical or as close as possible.

asking cause just curious. I adjust using the software recommendation, but find the contrast and brightness higher than what I used to. My room is considered low ambient level and it recommended a value of 0.35 cd/m2 for black level and 85 cd/m2 for white level.
