I would love to have a simple FF... simply to maximise my 12-24mm... real wide...
no need 24mp... just 21mp enough! ha ha...

FF good only for ppl who want real WIDE shots or the higher resolution - so they claim but i wonder why when most ppl don't even print their photos, let alone larger than 8R or A2, which is very achievable with what we have today.

i am a tele-hogger, i refuse to bite the FF bullet
i understand what you mean... The 1.5x crop factor really helps when it comes to tele... but when will it ever be enough?
Birders like clkoh will probably wish for 2x crop to make the 400mm even better...

Then the other group of people will wish that the FF can give wide wide angle... perhaps even start dreaming of 0.5x???

I guess no one will ever be fully satisfied... always wish for more...

When you have FF and high resolution, you can crop 1.5x, 2x or 3x on your PC as you like. But when you use 1.5x or 2x crop, you can't get the wide angle back... Unless paint or stitch. :sofunny:

I will be going FF eventually as my areas of interest are landscape, macro and portraits. 24.8 meg pix would allow me to crop my macro shots like mad without the need of a TC or Extension tube. For landscape, it gives me the option to go ultra wide. I'm pretty new to portraiture but I think the bokeh is nicer when using a FF (correct me if i'm wrong on this).

Viewing angle is secondary, Image quality is the main.
