I agree. Things changes very fast in Singapore. 7years ago I got my flat at the 2nd highest floor with a great sea view and now they are building 2 40-storey high flats in front of my house. :'(

in the end we just really need a roof over our heads, a comfortable place we can come back to at the end of each day. no point paying top dollar for a view that may go (unless like me you live next to the canal - i can't see how they can build over that haha...)

besides noise - which btw is worse the higher you go because sound travels (say it with me) up! :D - there are also cranky neighbours to deal with.

pointless to wait, in fact worse, if you find something you think is perfect, only to realise you're not in the queue, or 5 yrs down the line, developments go up and spoil your view and surroundings.

and the government wonders why s'poreans today shut their doors and keep to themselves..

I just went to view 3 resale HDB at AMK central. The price of resale now is still very steep (5-room about $650k, 4-room about $500k, all about 5 years). If you don't mind the location, the Punggol BTO is good buy in term of the value.

hmmz..thanks for all the replies...

I just started working.. right next to woodlands causeway.. haha.. Bukit panjang would be slightly nearer to where i work.. but then again.. I might not be working at woodlands forever..

We are kind of fixed on buying punggol/sengkang area.. its just which BTO project.. since both of us are livign in hougang now and pretty accustomed to the environment here.. =)

But then again... woodlands to Punggol is really quite far if i dun drive! might have to see 3 or 4 years later whether can afford a car.. haha

But the problem is that I applied through HDB balloting since last year, never got any good Q number to select flat... :(
