Why would you upgrade to A900?; If you already have A700 plus firmware 4

The more I think about it, the less I'm inclined to consider upgrading to a A900.

[1] 24 megapixels - I don't print or view my photos at an enlargement that would need it -> A700's 12 megapixels is enough.
[2] 2x Bionz processors. A900 needs it to process the 24 mpix and maintain 5 fps -> A700 can already do 5 fps
[3] 2.0 EV stops -> A700 has it in firmware release 4.0 available on 16 Sep 08
[4] NR Off -> A700 has it in firmware release 4.0 available on 16 Sep 08
[5] Intelligent preview -> don't think I'll be using it much...
[6] High ISO noise -> doesn't seem any better that A700
[7] AF -> seems confined to APS-C area -> same as A700

File sizes will be much bigger for A900, requiring more storage space and will be slower to process in Photoshop/Lightroom.

Setting aside loyalty to Sony Alpha and the hype associated with a new release, why would you want to upgrade?
Indeed, (dare I say this) is the Nikon D700 a better bet?

Let's have an objective discussion.

1. 24MP better resolution, good for crop. if you only do 8R printing, i think 6MP are more than enough, why you choose 12MP then?
2. No comment.
3. Useless for me through.
4. This is nothing, the Raw file suppose stay at it origin.
5. I think this is good for JPEG shooter.
6. Haiz.. this is bad things for the A900, but if you dont do big printing. dont think this is a problem. But i'm also not happy with the Noise Control.
7. Also not happy with this.

File size, some of the website said that RAW file 40MB, jpeg 7-18MB. Standby more memory card lol.

If compared to D700, i will only say the Noise is only the problem.

I'll be looking forward more to the release of firmware 4.0 than upgrading to A900 unless money is not a problem.

I don't see any reason at all....

Its a nice camera though... in all honesty, A-700 is more than enough to do what I need at the moment. So would I upgrade? probably not at this stage until Sony step up their service for professional.

Oh....My set is already official upgrade by SSC to firmware 4.

#) It's still don't have AF micro-adjustment for lenses.
#) No auto ISO selection in Manual mode

For DSLR-A900
1. 24MP better resolution if you do up to A3+ home printing with 300DPI
2. 2x Bionz processors as needed to maintain 5 fps for 24MP processing
3. 2.0 EV stops which is good for bracketing (HDR)
4. RAW file with NR Off which detail is NOT loss. User control by using noise reduction software.
5. Intelligent preview, may be useful in difficult light control area
6. High ISO noise compare to A700, I don't think it so bad anywhere it depend on the actual production set.
7. It depend on the actual production set on how good the AF can track (More cross sensor point).
8. Thumb up for AF micro-adjusment for lenses
9. Thumb up for 3 difference user define program setting (M1, M2, M3) which is found on 7D
10. Still haven't implement Auto ISO selection with any range in manual mode like D3, D700, 1DsMark3
11. Still haven't implement multi-write support on the dual CF cards and auto change features when 1 card is full.
12. Price, must be cheap... cheap... far below Nikon D700 street price .... dream.....dream
13. 20mm is now truely 20mm, no more 30mm.
14. Full frame will give better Brokeh
