Not sure if i'm right but... The older FF lenses are designed for 35mm film... So they are designed for 35mm format. Physics dictates that light will behaves the same whether you use film or digital sensor BUT what is good for film may not be good for digital sensor. The FF lenses from the film days have less contact points compared to the newer lenses... What do we lose due to this? Also, design technology has improved a lot... the new lenses should be more advance and accurate... BUT what about the bokeh? What about the feel of the shot? Why are many of us still chasing after the Minolta G's? The argument will be different for different people... I like Minolta Gs... I think the coating is better... I personally find CZ too sharp for me... (am I crazy???) |

I've just recently added one more reason to Chase after a Minolta G - the ability to do flare - in the case of the 28-70G The unique flare cutter and plus the aperture allows for some really unique lens flare when the aperture's been stopped down... a 18 sided star flare. E.G.

Ultimately, the point is to get what you need. If your budget allows, then go for gold. |

Actually, guys, the want for the camera equipment is always, and ever there, the monster of a 24mpx is really too much for most people... these days: I started to shoot most of my photos in my a700 in X-fine Small mode... that is - 3 megapixels... and it basically does its job. The resulting photos are lmost noise free at this sizing. and the files are very small... like 3 megabytes compared to 12 megabytes...
