Alpha users; What makes them different

Every time I meet an alpha user, most of the time, they are very friendly. :thumbsup1:
Somebody say because I fix and clean lenses. So, everybody has to be nice.

But during my overseas trip, while shopping for Minolta lenses at a 2nd hand shop,
two alpha users approached me and help me select the lenses.
They gave a lot of advises. I just pretend I don't know anything :P
One guy even lend me his camera to try out the lens.
Obviously, these guys doesn't know me but they were really nice.

So what makes alpha users different?
Or maybe I'm just lucky?

A lot of nice guys in other camps as well.
But I had this experience not long ago, I was hanging around in peninsula plaza with a less than $1K DSLR and a kit lens, then a group of guys (using the same brand),passed by and gave a discriminating look at my cam :ashamed:

I agree with you bro. Most of the Alpha users are very, very friendly and helpful. This is one of the reason that keep me in the Alpha family. The brotherhood is strong and the advices given by the bros/sis here are sincere.

Many a times, we will see that certain camps will post comments like when you join their camp you can get better advises on the cam and accessories. Which i seriously doubt so after seeing some hostility even in the forum, what more can come from the group in person. Whereas it's totally different here. Everyone is happy and we are looking forward to each of our little outings to share & learn.

To me whether you are using a Sony A100, 200, 300, 350, 700, 800 or 900 or even the KM 5D or 7D, the respect from the Alpha bros will be the same. I'm still using a KM 5D and 7D and the bros have never despise me or outcast me when I go for outings with them. Each outing with the bros is an enjoyment and I look forward to seeing them. I guess that's why in the outings, most of them are pretty overwhelmed with the registration.

With this I would like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow Bros & Sis for their selfless help, advises and friendliness towards me. :)

3 cheers for you guys. You all are a great bunch and it is really my great pleasure to know you all.

I can say that is probably because of the "underdog" syndrome? :P

Oh well haha, given that our equipment is not spectacular to begin with, there's really nothing to brag about, so most of us are into photography because of photography, and I (and most bros here) would love to help out - irregardless of their cameras (though there's the urge to poison people sometimes) :)
