I admit, I'm much more intrigued and amused by prime lenses instead of zoom lenses. I have tried and used a number of them on various camera bodies and mounts for APS-C. I love the 35mm G, the 50mm, the 85mm CZ, the 135mm L lens. Its a pity it's quite expensive to assemble a set of primes lenses for the Alpha mount. I wish for a 35mm f2.8, 50mm f1.8, 85mm f1.8, 135mm f2.8 and something like that, where you get the neat package of focal lenght, image quality, weight and large aperture without the haunting prices of the f1.4s You guys think Sony will ever start producing these lenses? Cheap good first hand prime lenses *slurP* |

Very unlikely SONY will produce those again. 2 of the lens you quote 35mm f2.8 and 50mm f1.8 not available in the Minolta range. They do have the 35mm f2 (hard to find) and 50mm f1.7 (from time to time can see one in B&S).

There is no 85mm f1.8 either. I think you mean 85mm f1.4? |

Now , its either you go for Minolta or go for Sony . Don't think you have other Choices unless you go for 3rd Party Lenses lor . But let me tell you ba , its really worth every cent you pay for the Minolta or Sony ones . For me , especially the Zeiss , its really a 'WOW' ! |
