People in this parts know me by name, or the Nick of Boombox or ChaoxAngel - which is pronounced Chaos Angel (which spawned a whole lot of nick names like chao *something* go find out yourself... there are clues everywhere )If it had not been for this group, I wouldn't be here, so I'd like to thank all the bros (and sis) for making this even possible for me... For viewing pleasure... Below are a listing of shots (resized for easy loading viewing, the large size is available as a link below each photo) that I've done over the months... not much if you compare that to many bros here. I'm not good at typing a lot about myself and the things I do, So enjoy! Photo-Album Theme: Glamour photography ================================================================== The History I've got a little bit of background from the design and computer arts scene, and I'm one of those geeks who are nuts about spacescapes and science fiction. So here are a few of my old old works: Chrome Island Twilights ![]() Click for large size (VERY BIG): http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Chrome_Island_Twilights.jpg Chrome Island Nights ![]() Click for large size (VERY BIG): http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Chrome_Island_Nights.jpg The Chrome Island Series are rendered in Vue4, and completed in Photoshop. In Higher Orbit ![]() Click for large size (VERY BIG): http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/In_Higher_Orbit.jpg Rendered in 3D Studio Max Asocimian Nebulla ![]() Click for large size (VERY BIG): http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Asocimian_Nebulla.jpg Completed in Photoshop. The Learning Era Well this time, I'm fiddling around like a blind beetle... rather frustrating really, because I'm got sloppy technical foundations and not many ideas about how to work my camera properly. So a lot of money spent on group shoots were like school fees... with a lot of so called "Sayang sayang shots" - shots that looked pretty nice, but still CMI... ![]() Gust ![]() Click for large size: http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Gust.jpg Model: Kseniya from Russia (Carrie Models) Location: Ann Siang Hill (Any Grey Wall will do fine) ![]() This is more of "The Hit" in a large group of shots that turned out to misses. Aneta ![]() Click for Large size: http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Aneta.jpg Model: Aneta from Czech Republic (Carrie Models) Location: Somewhere Near Supreme Court (Well any black wall will do... )This is actually the backlog of the first Modelinn shoot that I've attended to. I think this was made with the Tamron 17-50 wide open... Not a very good move to use a lens wide open and try to get everything sharp - didn't learn about depth of field until some time later, but the lens was good enough wide open at maximum zoom length to provide a lot of usable resolution so the shot wasn't entirely scrapped, and eventually this shot, made by that lens on a A100 made it onto the large print on my portfolio)Maria ![]() Click for Large size: http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Maria.jpg Model: Maria from Russia (Carrie Models) Location: Clarke Quay (Um... any cafe or just a table will do) Child of Gaia ![]() Click for Large size: http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Child_of_Gaia.jpg This is taken while on trip with the Cambodia 7s... ![]() The PP Era This is the start of the time that I using a lot of Post processing as the primary means of not only fixing, but also using DI as a form of interpretation. Zsofia in White #1 ![]() Click for Large Size: http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Zsofia_in_White_1.jpg Zsofia in White #2 ![]() Click for Large Size: http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Zsofia_in_White_2.jpg Zsofia in White #3 ![]() Click for Large Size: http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Zsofia_in_White_3.jpg This features Zsofia from Hungary (Carrie Models I think), well you may not realise... that the original was like this... so part of the work involves getting rid of the bus stop behind the model ![]() ![]() On the Edge ![]() Click for Large size (VERY BIG): http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/On_The_Edge.jpg Model: Alyona from Kazakhstan (Carrie Models) Location: Amoy Street This might sound a little crazy, but development of this photograph, just this one, took me a little over a month, well, mostly because I couldn't get decided in the colour tones and etc... (Shot with the 28-70G)Oooooh, A-ly-o-na ![]() Click for Large Size: http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Oooooh_A-ly-o-na.jpg This is the next one to feature Alyona. For my works - being closer to the artistic side of stuff has prompted me to delve deeper into finding techniques that can better display the effects post processing can do. With this one, I've explored doing virtual make-up for the model. (28-70G) The Lighting Era This period I think, is the beginning of me exploring the usage of light and shadow, from reflectors to off-shoe flashes like the F56AM on WL mode, then also using the Umbrellas and Vivitar Flashes with RF transmitters and receivers, and also getting into my first formal studio shoot (with a lot of note taking) - a long time since I last stepped into a studio as a photographer since I started off from Beng Chye's studio a year ago (meeting Shadow and Galdor in the process) Tinah ![]() Click for Large Size (VERY BIG): http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Tinah.jpg Model: Tinah (Singapore) Location: Central (Clarke Quay) The light is one F56AM mounted off shoe, triggerd via IR wireless flash mode. Against the Wall ![]() Click for Large Size: http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Against_the_Wall.jpg Model: Julia from Russia (Carrie Models) Location: Somewhere near Middle Road (um... or a white wall will just do fine... hehe) Red Hot ![]() Click for Large size: http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Red_Hot.jpg This one features the model Yunji (Carrie Models) - who appears in this July's Playeur Magazine. This is being shot near the Central Mall (or any red wall will do) - One light with Reflecting umbrella, shot with a loaned 85mm f1.4 (courtesy of Dewakarma... Thanks bro!) Windy Corridor ![]() Click for Large Size: http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Windy_Corridor.jpg Done in the same shoot. Two Lights with reflecting umbrella, shot with a loaned 35mm F1.4 (courtesy of Dewakarma... Thanks again bro!) Nedine in Black ![]() Click for Large size: http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Nedine_in_Black.jpg This one is done at Elliot Westacott's Studio ( http://www.ejwphotography.com/ ), Make up by Jennis Wong (http://www.modelmayhem.com/649371) Model is Nedine from South Africa. Shot with the 28-70 F2.8 G The Digital "Dark Room" Era Eventually, my journey takes me to places where I am beginning to explore effects and techniques that can take me back to emulate the feeling of film, low fidelity, non standard colours to convey feelings that I get. I hope that this will be the start of a style that will eventually mature into something that's good... ![]() Pillars ![]() Click for Large Size: http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Pillars.jpg Model: Meaghan from USA (Carrie Models) Location: Civilian War Memorial, shot with the 17-35mm F3.5G (courtesy of bro Dewakarma) Stuck Outside and Looking In ![]() Click for Large Size: http://www.chaoxangel.com/Public_Gallery/Normal/Stuck_Outside_and_Looking_In.jpg Model: Meaghan from USA (Carrie Models) Location: Somewhere near the Civilian War Memorial, shot with the 17-35mm F3.5G (courtesy of bro Dewakarma) The Future...? I'm currently in pursuit of artistic studies... I still have a choice for my major - animation arts or fashion communication or fine arts? Oh well... not sure. ![]() Nedine sketch ![]() 8B Pencil on Sketching Paper |
