Was given a chance to do some test shoot with 70-400mm f4-5.6 G SSM.

I must say that this lens is very sharp even at 400mm wide open.
Its a heavy lens but when use correctly, one can shoot hand held at 400mm.

Tried it on both A700 and A900. It perform better, much faster, on A900.
The focusing speed is just amazing on A900. Colour wise, its good as well.
The SSM is fast and swift with focusing locked, at times too quiet that I hardly ever noticed.

The only question in mind is........why the body is in matt silver.

Below are some test shots.
Exif are still intact on photos.

The reflective silver finish might be slightly better in keeping the heat from being absorbed by the lens barrel, but camouflage's needed if you ever needed to use that for birding. :)

just some questions... beside sony 100mm macro... can any of the sony CZ turn macro? like attach some filter or sort?

Would it be possible to use 70-400mm to shoot portrait or macro?

Macro like butterfly is ok, if shoot spider i think difficult. If for portrait use i suggest go for 85CZ or 135CZ
