Hi Everyone , its me again !

This time i am seeking help to install the ipod in the car , ok , its the Taxi ... My Taxi ...

I tried to search for in the www & can only find such a thing call ? Transmitter ... ? But how is it done , its not stated ... Another is , most of the new cars will have the option to have it ready installed ... For my case , i hope its not too troublesome . Just wanted to have more music on the move rather than listening to FM ... Some times when taking a short break at some corner for a smoke , some personal preference Music can makes me feel better .

Anyone here can provide me some details on how to make it works in my Taxi ?

I may not be able to check in so much here like before , but definitely i will come back to see again . Thank you . :salute:

Which ipod do you have and the stereo set installed in your taxi ?

If your stereo has aux in, that will be the easiest, just need to wired your ipod into the aux in and this will give the best sound quality.

If you do not want to do any rewiring, can use the FM + charger option. One of this is ... http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Newer%20Technology/TRAFWHT/ . There might be some radio interference and sound quality degradation with this option. Should be able to find something similar in SLS, no need to order from US.

Other similar options ... http://www.nextag.com/ipod-fm-transmitter-charger/search-html

If your car stereo can play MP3 via the CD, another option is to burn all your MP3 onto a CD. 700MB can hold lots of mp3 but for your case may not be enough cause you on the road almost the whole day. Just have multiple mp3 CDs. :D

Happy iPoding !!!

Griffin iTrip and iTrip auto are available in Best Denki Apple stores throughout the island. The good ones are not cheap though.

I am using the ipod Touch , and the best way is no wire to be installed because after all , the Taxi is rented and i may be changing it later . And my CD Player cannot support MP3 playback ... :mymistake:

After looking at the few options , i see the iTrip quite easy to use ... Does that means i just need to get that & connect it to ipod & 'IT' will just play from the CD Player ... ?

I was kind of 'WOW' when i saw how the FM thing works ... Is it really true or not that small little thing can 'Scan' & play from CD Player like that ? :faint: Technology really is wierd ...

FM thing works by transmitting to a specified unused FM frequency. So you taxi still need to have radio (not CD player) to pick up the signals at same frequency.

how abt a cheap option? hook it up to a pair of speakers, which draw power from the cigarette lighter slot.

Yup... Even some SonyEricsson phones can transmit in FM, so your car stereo just picks it up at the correct channel.

What's your car stereo? Do you have any input jacks at the front?

in Korea, I see a lot of ppl using a cassette tape that has a wire attached with a stereo minijack at the end of it.. basically, they just pop it into their stereo set and plug it into their MP3 player and voila! it works! so if your radio still have cassette tape function, I think this could be the best way.. it works not just with IPOD, but with all other audio devices with the standard 3.5mm minijack.. and it's quite cheap..
