wow, "What you’ll need to view this “hopefully” amazing meteor shower is a dark sky, far away from city lights and jackets/sweaters/blankets to keep from you from the cold. A reclining chair will help in preventing that nasty stiffed-neck as well. No need for telescopes or binoculars."

looks like a kit lens would do for this shoot! ;) that's if we can see it in s'pore, plus all the lights...

Leonids Meteor Gathering at Singapore ...... http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=173939337413&ref=share

From the posted information....
0300hrs 18th Nov 2009 - Leonid Meteor Shower begins
0500hrs 18th Nov 2009 - Leonid Meteor Storm peaks

More info from another forum ... http://forums.sgclub.com/singapore/next_meteor_shower_220533.html
From this forum they quoted 2 peaks ....
Quote:

1st peak: 17/11/09 (Tue) 15:00 UT -------->> 17/11/09 (Wed) 23:00 S'pore Time!! (perfect timing!)
2nd peak: 17/11/09 (Tue) 21:00 UT -------->> 18/11/09 (Wed) 05:00 S'pore Time

However, S'pore sky is usually overcast by 3-4am so most probably we can't catch the 2nd peak in S'pore..

Places in Singapore you can try watching the meteor ... http://forums.sgclub.com/singapore/coming_up_perseids_187794_2.html#post2768636

For the meteor no need for long lens or telescope.

Tamron 400 f4 ? Didn't know Tamron has a 400mm f4. What's the model number ?
