i played archmage many many times. Utopia only once, then earth2025 a few times. Its a turn based game and depends on the server you join, u get different number of turns/hr. and there is a max like 200 turns. Imagine u joined a 10turns/hr server, u check ur acct once every day. But i guess what made me stop playing the game is the server reset. have to restart again, sianz... Guess u keep on playing when u have friends playing as well, else it gets a bit boring after a while. |

same concept, i used to play tradewars, and my room was like an ops room, with charts made of recycled 132 column printer paper, detailing each universe, where the Wanderer had been discovered, history of the daily 4-digit "lottery" numbers and where planets and links led. i recall playing on at about 10 boards at once, so you can imagine the intensity and commitment to play - if you missed a day or two it made the diff between destroying the cabal hq and being declared champ (then game restarts) or being killed off by someone. ![]() recently i found a tw2000 version and downloaded it, iirc this ver runs off a web server. time for a revival? anyone else played tradewars? |

i STILL hv my hayes 1200, 2400 and 9600 bps modems! i think anyone below the age of 30 would likely not have experience bbs-es. how come you had dial-up bills? unless they were overseas boards? back then s'pore landlines were all fixed charge and unlimited. only thing was TAS (pre-Singtel) warned users not to use voice lines for data - duh... haha |

last time only pacific net dial up....and unlimited dial-in $100 a mth! And dialing into BBS, u need to pay for fix line charges! Not to mention...few yrs later... when internet surfing is done using 28.8k, 33.6k , 44.8k and eventually 56k Modem! Back then US-robotics is the king of modem...LOL |
