sorry to ask noob question..

just bought a comp too! ;) but had already been worrying about future upgrade.. i was told that my Compaq CPU's motherboard is made by Seagate (obviously I have not aware that this HDD manufacturer makes motehrboard) so I am worrying if I were to upgrade my graphics card (currently is nVidia GeForce 9600 GS 3D 768mb) will there possibly be compatibility issues..

also, im damn surprised that you can upgrade JUST the processor chip! and for the chip installation, do you just turn off the comp and fix it on and the Vista will self-install? enlighten me.. =p

jason. to run intel i7 processor, u need a motherboard with X58 chipset. also, u need 3x DDR3 ram to support the triple channel memory access.
If you are running a PCI-x16 graphic card, most likely u will be able to upgrade to a PCI x16 graphic card.

hey bro, thanks for your answer..

it brings more questions to me.. how to check if my motherboard is a X58 chipset

currently im only running on 2 x 2gb DDR2 ram.. and I think my graphics card is having DDR2 ram in them too.. is that why graphics does not look real fantastic on my GTA IV, despite having to use a graphics card with 768mb memory..

also, how do I check if my graphics card is a PCI-x16 graphic card?

Thanks for answering bro ;)
