Hi, may I know whether can I buy the Sony 1.4x TC to fit on my 70300GSSM? And what will happen? Thought of using this to take some bird photo near my place during sunny day. Thanks |

U can manual focus only. sharpness wise, drop abit, u just need to set down 2 more steps. |

No this 70-300SSM cannot fit the Sony 1.4x or 2x TC. Physically cannot mount, due to the element protrusion. Only 70-400SSM can fit with MF. |

3rd party TC if want to try... (not just for this lens, but any lens you want to try TC on..) 1) check if TC can mounted, 2) Check whether or not if zooming or focussing will cause lens back element to clash onto TC. For compatibility and AF-bility of Sony/Minolta TC can check http://www.mhohner.de/sony-minolta/lenses.php#tcs For 3rd party compatibility..
