Oh, that's a mini softbox for the Photon strobe. the effect is quite nice... I would have gotten a bigger one, though the question is - can the flash fill it up during bright daylight... O_OOh yeah, the range, I hadn't hit max yesterday, was around slightly lesser than 1/2, under overcast skies, with a setting of 1/125, f11, ISO200. Subject distance is roughly... 2m + Quite ideal I think. Edited by ChaoxAngel, Mar 10 2009, 12:51 AM.

Oh yeah, btw, when I hold up the strobe with one hand, and shoot with the other, I'm able to get this: ![]() Distance is approx 1.5m-2m. Bare Flash - coz on the shooting day, I forgot to bring the softbox... The thing about this strobe is that - the lamp's radiating area is still large enough so that the strobe flash actually looked as if it was rather diffused. The reflecting/radiating area of the strobe that is directly facing the model is actually larger than any whale tail / lightsphere light modifier, and definitely much bigger than the tiny omni-bounce - to achieve a greater radiating area would require a softbox/wall/ceiling etc.
