Try akahibara street area - the Mecca for IT stuff and cameras.

Enjoy your trip.
During weekends they have cosplays there in the streets of akahibara and the young japanese girls will really pose for you. ;)

New lens or Used lens?

New Lens you can go to Akihabara street, but usually they won't have complete Sony range lens as opposed to Nikon or Canon. You can try SoftMap (there are a few of this, go the one in one corner of a junction, unfortunately where the stabbing incident took place).

Prices don't always be better than a good price in Singapore.

Used lens in Shinjuku area, there was one shop... MAP camera.

Yodobashi is a cut-throat price.... very close to local market RRP. I usually buy through a personal contact in one of the shop in Akihabara.

With rising yen, it may not worth to get it there.... Map Camera which sells used lenses wasn't that attractive either.
