any pics/ links to the product?

by wireless i assume there's at least a controller unit. unless its triggered by ANY flash (via IR sensor).

if there's a controller unit and the hotshoe contact is 4-pin that matches the alphas/ minoltas, then at least there's TTL otw its fully manual like the older (single-pin and need OS1100 (iirc model # correctly) adapter) minolta macro ring flash

edit: why wireless anyway? the purpose of a ring flash is to go around the lens, and eliminate shadows. if you hold a ring flash at an angle to the lens, its no diff from any other flash... hope i'm not missing the point or plot here...

ah... the controller unit (or transmitter in this case) seems to lock onto the built-in flash, i.e. won't work for a900, unless that unit can also clip onto hotshoe flashes. but that would make the set up very heavy...

looks good, if the flash is a strobe because i believe the sony ver is actually a ring LIGHT.

This wireless unit looks cool but i think the flash only left & right ... ? It will appear a funny catchlight on insect's eyes .

And i don't get the Sony one ...

Overall , i think it will be a good buy . Do post pics here after you enjoy the BBB !

i think wireless ring flash in a sense will make it less clumsy in case the wires catch branch or something... other than that the only reason i would hold the ring flash elsewhere is if i want the circular ring to be visible in my model's eyes.

cheers

the wire shouldn't get caught, its not loose-hanging, anyway you can always use velcro strap to strap it to the lens if there's any concern. the thing abt the wireless flash is the batts are in the flash unit, making it heavy, i.e. adding weight to your set up at the front. a wired unit has the batts in the controller unit, in line with the camera body.
