Since now the new lenses all come with SAM focusing motor, make me wonder will Sony take away the focusing motor on the new entry body like Nikon. If they plan to do that, definitely bad move.

an unlikely move. probably this is their attempt to make a cheap and silent focusing motor..

if they remove the focusing motor on the body, doesn't that practically make all AF minolta lenses obsolete ?
removing the ability to use Minolta lenses would take away one of the stongest competitive advantages that Sony DSLRs have against its competitor.

Test Test water 1st haha.
If no good price to sell off i gonna stay with Alpha and wait for a A700 replacement then upgrade.
:P
Huh?? I guess is OK, as a way to check out the potential price you can get. But, if you are not selling now, few months later, the price won't be the same. So, I don't see it as a point in doing it.

Just curious, what is your lens collection? If you have enough lenses, then can just buy the a700 body only. No need to sell away any of your lenses. You can even keep your a200 as backup.

Hmm true.
i got ppl offering me $400.
oh gosh. A200 like no value.

Waiting to get flash.
See hows the new cute cute flash performance.
maybe get that
:thumbsup1:

From my own "jump ship" experience, you really won't get a good price for the body. I chose to keep mine and a basic lens.

Still the best practice to invest in lenses not body
I am officially NUTS!!

just a suggestion kelvin, maybe can keep the body with u, and in the future, when poison your partner in photography... dont have to get another body altogether.. can just pass it down... then save one 'anniversary, birthday or other event' gift.. ^_^
