If the flash is true, it will be great for travelling.
it's true..

"Sony offers an affordable, compact external flash unit (model HVL-F20AM) that is simple to operate. Unlike a camera’s built-in flash, this external flash provides higher output (Guide Number 20), and enables users to bounce light off the ceiling to eliminate harsh shadows and achieve more even illumination when shooting indoors."

If we can have a view from the side, then it would be easier for us to know.

Actually, the more I see it - the three cameras break out of the conventional blocky, black coloured boxes into curves, and i'm actually liking the red styling scheme of the camera.

That you can actually place a A330 beside a CX-100 Handycam and also besides the Cybershot T700, and they'd almost be series matching. :P

They look more and more like cyber shots here...

Mem stick + SD is a great combo.
ergonomics - Power Switch - nikon styled, camera can be turned on with index finger.
1 handed operation possible with all buttons and functions moved on the right side of the camera. Could be interesting - the multi direction key pad takes up almost all of the work... my only reservations is that I wonder how do I quickly switch from evoking, drive display flash iso to controlling the individual 9 af points.

You may be wondering why these cameras are still 2.5fps...

Well, high FPS is an operation better left to higher end cameras much more critical is - the quick focus acquisition the shot and taking the shot and hit it the first time. (xmm jump shots - 10 blindly fired shots in 1 second vs 1 anticipated and timed shot)

Thankfully, the number of AF points aren't reduced across the series. 3 points for N lowest end, 7 for C's lowest end entry model (but hey, hasselblad cameras only have 1 focal point so what the hey... ;) )
AF motor is retained - while N removed it from two entry models
Spot metering seems intact across all models - while C removed it from lowest entry model

All these little things help to make a camera more usable and functional as a coherent unit.

My only hope is that it gets DOF preview and MLU function that makes it even more functional as a image making tool.

ALso, a good sign is that the pop up flash is also positioned much higher now, consistent to the height of what you get from the a100 - less chance of casting shadows.

Menu button is left at the left side - camera hard settings that usually don't need to be set are the only non right handed control button.

styling wise... the wordings 10.2 megapixels / 14.2 megapixels still irks me. the body's a piece of art, but the pasted text ruins it.

http://www.photoclubalpha.com/2009/05/16/new-alphas-have-hdmi-output/

states that:

"The new flashgun HVL-F20AM operates as a wireless flash controller for the full-frame á900. “While Sony’s flagship DSLR does not have its own integrated flash, the HVL-F20AM can be used as an inexpensive trigger for wireless remote flash heads” according to Sony UK."

That's good news :-)
